Defiance

For a millennia we have been attacked seemingly at random. On and off, our planet has been victim to a race of aliens that appear out of nowhere on a huge moon sized space station. They harvest our people for their organs and then rapidly leave without a trace.

Since the last attack, we've been preparing. We've seen a pattern, and last time they arrived we were able to send a squad of our finest Starwarriors to their station to counterattack. They took 50 bombs with them and were able to plant them all around the station. But there was a setback! All of our Starwarriors were killed in their endeavors and then the station disappeared again.

Now, they're back earlier than expected and we weren't prepared in time. You are our only Starwarrior ready for the mission. Your job is to activate all 50 bombs and finally destroy the alien menace once and for all!

Bombs - There are 50 bombs spread throughout the alien base for you to activate. This is your objective. 

Teleporters - There are teleporters spread around the alien base, each with a unique code. Use these to get around the base quicker and easier.

Weapons - You are issued with an E.P.I 2K13 Pulse Rifle for use in your mission. Although it starts with a basic fire mode, there are modifications dropped by the previous Starwarriors that allow you to enable Rapid, Heavy and Pulse fire modes.

This game was primarily designed for a controller, but since it was inspired by one of my favorite ZX Spectrum games, I've added old-school keyboard support too. The following keys can be used;

Q - Jump

A - Access Teleporter

O - Left

P - Right

Space - Shoot

N & M - Change firing mode

Cursor Keys & Enter - Entering teleporter codes, names on high score board and menu navigation
